Welcome to the World Everest

newestbornFriedia

Would like to welcome to this world, my little angel Everest born on Dec 23rd, 2015.

Sorry for the delay in blogging and for all of you who were watching my Vlogmas on my Youtube, apologies for not being able to finish it! BUT I am planning on filming a “birth story” as soon as I am feeling like I kinda have control over Baby Everest and myself with my body. Please give me another week or so of rest so I can deliver that to you!

32 Week Bumpdate and My Baby Shower

For my baby shower I did go back and forth with idea’s. My husband is a huge Super Hero’s fan so I thought of doing that..BUT then I thought the older my son gets, I know at one point he is going to want to have a “superhero” themed birthday. Then I thought to go all pastell color and soft baby like….BUT then I thought I want to have my son to be an adventurous one! So when I found out the “woodland theme” I really liked it, BUT then again I didn’t want to go full force “Forest Man” vibe lol
I added a few “cute” twists to it all but still keeping it boy’ish, fun and “adventurous”!
Here is the theme board I had made for myself from different pinterest photos I had found online.

I drew a little sketch of what I wanted the main food table to look like:

Here are some of the games I found to play. Wanted to stay away from the chocolate in the diaper game LOL
Didn’t want to gross anyone out!

Games
Draw a baby game:
participants are given pencil and paper plate, they must put the plate on top of their head and draw a baby. mom to be chooses the best drawing and the winner gets a prize
Clothespin Game:
Give all guests 2-3 clothespin and they are not allowed to say “baby”, my name and husbands name.
Whomever has the most at the end of the day wins
 Draw a book (activity):
Have guests pull out an alphabet and then have them draw something that starts with that letter. Later on I will bind it and make it into a book for the baby.
Name that Baby Animal Game:
(printout list) A list of animals and guests have to write what the babies are called. Like “Cat” is “kitten” etc
Guys could do the:
Drink out of a bottle game. Add juice in there and whom ever can drink the fastest
Had these games on the list but never got the time to do them:
How Big is the belly:
Have twine or yarn and have people cut to guess how big it is.
They can write their name on washi tape and tape to the end.
Guess the due date:
Have a calendar and write when I am due, but guests can go in and take a guess on when they think the baby will actually arrive
Game for Guys:
Guys Blindfolded put the diaper on the baby game.

As for favors:Like on my theme board I made little packets of s’mores for everyone to take home and printed out a cute tag to add on the bag. “Sending Home Smore Love”

Hope these helped you in some way! And good luck with your babyshower!!

Our Studio Story

studiostoryFMNcvr

It was maybe a year or two ago when I was talking to my husband saying that I really wanted a studio space to work out of. I had been working from home for the past 5 years and even though I LOVE it and cannot complain because I am lucky to be able to call my dining room table my office desk..I needed a change and wanted to be around people and other creatives. I felt like I was working everyday and feeling more and more alone. SO ! Even if it was a 1 bedroom apartment down the street, or a back house somewhere I was always searching. But nothing would come up.

Then one day at a cafe on Larchmont, I was chatting with my friend and telling her about this dream of mine and she mentioned she was looking for a space too! That’s where it all started! Never really thought it would come true…but come to find out I had other freelancer/creative friends whom were also looking into a studio space just so they can have a place to go and work!Thats how I got two more of my friends involved ,also including my friends husband!

A week before this cafe meet up I had gone to see a space in DTLA in the arts district that was a friend of my sister in laws. She is a successful photographer and was renting this amazing spot with two other photographers. Well, after she showed us around I went ahead and talked to the building manager and had a little more of a detailed tour. There were about 5-7 spots open and wanted to get in there as fast as we could. Took application home and showed everyone photos, but not everyone was in LA at the time and it was hard to get a response. Week had gone by and I called the building to see if the unit we wanted was still available…it wasn’t. By then I had given up and started looking at other buildings around here…..again, nothing for the price/view/location that we wanted popped up. My heart was broken.

I had posted that I had a group of friends looking for space in DTLA and if anyone heard of anything to message me. Well!! My friend who owned a sneaker store in Beverly Hills was now into real estate and mentioned he would help. I gave him the info of the building we were originally looking at with our budget. He called the building just to check before looking elsewhere and got an appointment to do one last look around.

Come to find out, my friend who owned the sneaker store KNEW the building manager because she used to buy all here sneakers there growing up! It was a magical reunion happening in front of us!! She lite up and told us there was a unit we should see. That unit was better than what we had originally been looking at. And it just opened. And it was spacier. It was just perfect. We all looked at each other and said we wanted to sign the lease right away…so thats what we did! If it wasn’t for my friend, non of this would’ve happened. Was just meant to be. Am so grateful!

Its been almost three months and our studio just keeps getting better and better. Everyone bringing their own uniqueness to the space and it feels like we are all creating this one place together. It really does feel special being here and being able to share a space with your friends. Don’t know how I got so lucky!! SO very excited for the months to come. And hopefully we can stay here longer than a year and keep creating and building ourselves into what we want to be. My studio-mates are the bestest and couldn’t have asked for better people.

Here I hope to be more productive in everything! (designing/consulting/creating/youtube) and am hoping to being able to do workshops early next year after the baby is born. There are so many possibilities here, I am almost for sure I will think of more ways to use the space! CANNOT WAIT!!

Below are a few of my favorites I have been eye-balling for a while:

I’m Pregnant

I’m pregnant. It is a hard secret to keep. From day one you just want to tell everyone (which some people do) but since it was quite a struggle to get here, I thought I should keep it to ourselves until we felt we were at the healthiest we could be to announce it. And now is the time! Finally!
My husband and I couldn’t be happier! We still cannot believe it. I can kinda tell something is growing inside of me but honestly we haven’t done an ultrasound and I haven’t felt anything move yet so it still kinda feels surreal in a way. BUT! I am feeling the pregnancy vibes so I am learning how to take it easy and be as healthy as I can be for this little creation inside me. For some reason though, this little baby has made it some what easy on me. It makes me crave fruits and veggies! It’s a healthy one.
I posted up the video on to my YouTube account earlier today (12:30PM) it is currently 4PM and am overwhelmed once again by all your kind messages. Really brings tears to my eyes reading that this video made you happy or even cry with joy!!
I have said it before, putting up personal videos is one of the hardest things to do but it also is the most rewarding. Thank you guys for that. Cannot wait to share everything I am going through with you all!!! Hope you don’t mind❤︎
